Following the North West Housing Forum's launch at the House of Commons, George said "Access to affordable, decent housing is a right, not a privilege, but too many of my constituents are inadequately housed. Government scraps outdated rules which cheat pensioners after George tables Parliamentary motion

The Government is to scrap outdated rules which can cheat pensioners of their first week's payments. Men who've just turned 65 and women of 60 must wait a week for their initial cheque under current law. That means when they die their payments continue for seven pointless days...
